A Full Kitchen Update
On Thursday, December 30 my plan was to publish a hopeful little post here about maple buttercream.
Instead, we were escaping a fire driven by 100 MPH winds that was heading straight toward our neighborhood in Louisville, Colorado.
We’re incredibly fortunate. We survived. Our home survived. Wonderful friends, family members, neighbors, community members, and kind strangers have offered us support while crews work hard to restore utility services so we can return home safely. Words are insufficient to express our gratitude to everyone.
Several buildings in our complex didn’t make it, though, including one 30 feet over that was still smoldering today. We are heartbroken over the immense losses next door and throughout our area. If you’d like to help, the Boulder County Wildfire Fund is accepting donations.
All this is to say that it might be a while before I can post lighthearted culinary adventures again, but I’m sure there will be brighter days ahead.
